| The
centre for E-Governance, is registered with the Department of Social Welfare and the Registered General’s
Department and incorporated as an independent non-profit making think-tank under the Ghana Companies Code of 1963, Act 1799.

- To promote the use of ICT to better mobilize public opinion
in support of national developmental goals with particular reference
to poverty reduction, regional integration and revenue generation;
- To promote electronic distance learning, educational broadcasting
and virtual learning systems to complement and support face-to-face
campus based education & training systems.
- To promote the use of ICT in the delivery of frontline e-government
services to citizens and businesses.
- To raise awareness of the citizens and to empower rural communities
with an equal opportunity to participate in the national economy
and determine their own destiny and
- To promote the efficiency of the Civil and Public Service to
ensure that it plays a more proactive role in the economic and
social development at all levels.

- Promote the delivery of frontline on-line services to the citizens,
business, civil societies, NGO’s and the private sector;
- Promote the deployment and exposition of ICTs within the district
assemblies and their decentralized departments and agencies
- Promote information sharing, transparency and accountability
among the district assemblies and the Sector Ministries
- Promote research on the impact of socio-economic activities
at the local level
- Raise the awareness of the rural communities on their role
in the participatory process of national development and good
governance;
- Organise ICT training workshops and seminars to share findings
and best practices in e-governance
- Monitor and evaluate e-governance programmes and initiatives
at the local level.

- To conduct research and studies to establish a national database
to support regional and national information sharing;
- To contribute and participate in regional and National policy
formulations.
- To publish reports and disseminate articles on e-governance
Centres of Excellence, information and knowledge-sharing programmes.
- To provide training, capacity building, ICT consultancy and
advisory services.
